We started a game in our speaking sessions this week. It was about animals, animal expressions –> animal idioms. Each student had to look for an animal idiom and look for the corresponding expression in Spanish or vice versa.
Here you are mine:
Andar como perros y gatos –> fight like cats and dogs.
Ser perro viejo –> to be a wise old owl.
Ser un pez gordo –> to be a big shot.
Buscarle tres pies al gato –> looking for trouble.
Pensar en las musarañas –> daydream.
Cria cuervos y te sacarán los ojos –> You reap what you sow.
Now some useful links where you can find lots and lots of animal idioms. Have a look at them and we will put them in practise in class.
